chana masala recipe is a very simple dish, and it requires a boiled white chickpeas which is main ingredient for this recipe. it doesn’t require much to make this pindi chole recipe, just some spices and a little hard work. this recipe is medium spicy because in this some spices are used like garam masala and kashmiri red chili.

These spices are very important to make this chickpeas recipes. I enjoy eating this dish in winter, i would like to say to you that you must also make this dish in your home. this vegetarian recipe should always be cooked in a pressure cooker. because its steaming makes the chickpeas perfectly cook.

Ingredients for recipe.

  • 1 1/2 cups dry chickpeas
  • 3 tablespoon mustard oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 2 Bayleaves
  • 2 cardamom
  • 3/4 cups chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon garlic finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger finely minced
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 1/4 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 potatoes cut into quaters
  • 3/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon kasuri methi
  • chopped coriander

1. First set the instant pot to saute mode. and add mustard oil into the pot.

2. Add cumin seeds and coriander pods and bayleaves in the instant pot.

3. Add onions and cook until it becomes soft.

4. After that you put chopped tomatoes in it. and turmeric powder, ginger, garlic in square shape. and green chillies to the pot. and cook for 4-5 minutes.

5. Add potatoes and chickpeas to the pot.

6. add to cups of water in the instant pot. and set the mode on pressure cooker for minimum 6 to 7 whistles  or till chana becomes soft.

Now cook it well and open the lid after the pressure is released and add garam masala and kasuri methi to it. or add salt according to taste and mixed well. now chana masala instant pot is ready for serve and eating. and serve hot. enjoy its gravy and chickpeas.
